ContactMonkey journeys

Every organization keeps a stack of emails it could practically send in its sleep, whether it’s the onboarding note a new hire needs on their first Monday, the reply someone waits for after filling out a request form, or the reminder that has to reach exactly the right people before an engagement survey deadline slips past.

All of these arrive on cue and follow an obvious trigger, and yet the responsibility for sending them still lands on a person who has to remember to do it, again and again, on top of everything else already on their plate.

This is where workflows may not be as optimal as you’d like, because we all get forgetful when the work piles up, and a task that depends on someone catching it at the right moment is a task that eventually gets missed.

Journeys are being built to take that recurring, easy-to-forget work off your hands, and it’s coming soon!

What Journeys Does

Today, sending a multi-step series means manually creating and scheduling every email, every time, which is a laborious, manual process.

Journeys will let you trigger ContactMonkey emails automatically based on key events.

How it Will Work

Journeys will work inside ContactMonkey, where you build an ordered sequence of emails and set the timing of each one relative to the moment the journey begins.

  • The first email can go out on Day 0, the next seven days later, and a third thirty days after that, with the intervals set to whatever the sequence calls for.
  • You choose who receives it by drawing on the lists and audiences you already maintain, so there is no separate audience to assemble.
  • Before anything sends, you review the full schedule in a single view and confirm that every email, its timing, and its recipients are right.

Once the journey is live you keep complete control of it, with the ability to pause, resume, or cancel at any point, and you can track the status of each email in the sequence, whether it is scheduled, already sent, or failed to send.

Why it Matters

When routine communications run themselves, your team gets time back, and your people get faster, more consistent messages.

Responses that used to take a day or two can go out in near real time, every send looks and reads like your organization, and you keep the engagement data that tells you whether the message landed.

As you build more automated processes, branded and tracked email becomes a natural part of how your organization already operates, which means less manual effort for your team and a more reliable experience for everyone who hears from you.

What’s Next?

ContactMonkey Journeys is in active development and will be arriving later this quarter. We are currently looking for a small group of lead users to help shape it, build out templates and examples, and put their first journeys into production.

If your team wants to launch automated internal email workflows, reach out to your Customer Support Manager to put your name forward, or book a demo to learn more if you’re not yet a customer.
