An action item without an owner and a date is a suggestion. This turns vague asks into ones people can act on and you can follow up on.
The prompt
Flag any request or action item that does not say who should do it and by when. ‘Please complete the survey’ is a violation. ‘All people managers: complete the survey by Friday, October 16, 2026’ is not. Purely informational emails are exempt.
