One of the quickest ways to get your emails from Outlook into Salesforce.com is to use the BCC to Salesforce feature. It’s just one click away and adds your emails right to the lead or contact you are replying to. This can be a really powerful way to integrate Outlook with your Salesforce. It allows you to do what you are already doing, working in Outlook but still make sure you are keeping track of your connections right in Salesforce.
But what if BCC to Salesforce is not working?
Back in March ContactMonkey posted a how to guide you can find here: Why isn’t ContactMonkey’s BCC to Salesforce working?
You will need to make sure that Email to Salesforce has been enabled for your organization, you can check this by following these steps: https://help.salesforce.com/apex/HTViewHelpDoc?id=email_my_email_2_sfdc.htm
If it is not enabled your Salesforce Administrator will need to enable it, here is an article on how to do that: https://help.salesforce.com/HTViewHelpDoc?id=emailadmin_email2salesforce.htm&language=en_US
If it is already enabled or once it has been enabled you can set up BCC to Salesforce by following this guide: https://help.salesforce.com/apex/HTViewHelpDoc?id=email_my_email_2_sfdc_setup.htm&language=en_US If “View Setup and Configuration” is selected active in your Salesforce Profile. (This requires your Salesforce administrator).
If you do see the BCC to Salesforce button and your outbound emails are still not being recorded into Salesforce, try to manually BCC an email to Salesforce. Do this by copying your BCC email string from My Email to Salesforce which you can find here. Then paste that into the BCC field of a test email to an existing Lead or Contact in Salesforce. If the email is not recorded properly, than this is a Salesforce setup issue. Please contact your Salesforce Administrator and seek help from Salesforce.com.
Using BCC to Salesforce is a quick and easy way to get your emails into Salesforce and will save you time and we all know how much time we spend on email.
There’s an easier way
ContactMonkey allows your to Send and Add Email to Salesforce without using BCC. Bonus: you can make sure it goes to the correct Lead or Contact record and you can associate it with and Standard or Custom object. Check out this quick demo video:
